KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PASSIONATE South Sound Solar installed/upgraded our off grid system a little over a year ago. We purchased a property/home that had a homeowner built system. It was working... but way undersized and I had many safety concerns. We also started running a business on the property so we had much higher energy demands. Kirk and his team evaluated our electricity needs and designed a system with the capacity to support our home and business. They installed a 8kw solar array, Sol-ark inverter and Northstar battery bank. They also connected us to a local dealer to upgrade our backup generator to something reliable and scaled. They not only upgraded our system but had a massive clean up job to deal with on the old system.... the team showed up every day on time and worked relentlessly. They were so thoughtful about the install that we only had to shut down power for a short period for a few days in a row. This was such a huge blessing for family and business to not have to be without power for 2 weeks! Most solar companies won't even touch an off grid install, much less untangle the mess we had. Kirk's team was undeterred and was excited to have the project. Kirk is knowledgeable and well researched, he built a system for us and we love it! Our battery bank recently had issues and he went to bat for us- battling Outback for over a month. He kept us updated the whole time and thank to his tenacity and persistence in them honoring the warranty we have a new fully functioning bank again. If you want to go solar, call South Sound Solar. Wow. South sound solar is great. They came in with a good bid equal to the other lowest bid but better than two others. They are local and have an amazing staff. We ran into some unusual difficulties and they went above and beyond. I can not say enough about their work, communication, kindness, and consideration of my home, family and pets. They are professional yet real people that talk to you straight up. I highly recommend this company and would give them 6 stars if I could.

Advertising on Facebook free solar through PUD program. Received a phone call find out they’re only offering free installation and the rep hung up on me. So classy to use PUD’s name & hang up when you don’t get your way.

They installed an inverter that stopped working after two years and never responded to the request to get it fixed (under warranty). Must be too busy selling all those solar panels under warranty... Super nice people when you can get a hold of them.

--READ CAREFULLY if you've had a solar sales guy come knocking at your door! I was almost ripped-off by a smooth talking sales guy that came to my front door. Thankfully, I decided to call a local place (South Sound Solar) that has been around a long time, just to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off. You know, to get a second opinion. Thank GOD I called South Sound Solar and talked to Chad. When I told him I was planning on moving to a new house in less than a year, he explained with crystal clear logic what solar wasn't a good move for me to pump-up the value of my current house. Can you imagine a salesman telling you NOT to buy something -- particularly when you've already self-identified as a mid-wit with money? Chad, you are amazing. Solar is a great thing for most people in most situations, but it wasn't the right idea for me in my situation. I'm telling every person in my community to call South Sound Solar! There is a 26% out-right tax rebate that comes back to you if you invest in solar panels, and it pays itself off in less time than you might think. Give Chad a call, you'll be happy you did.
