The team from Texas solar that did our install gave us issues from the beginning. They were late to start, kept leaving the site and missed the Oncor crew, left trash everywhere which still hasn’t been picked up and damaged our house on the exterior. We also were without power for over 50 hours in this Texas heat. We have called the crew, our project manager and even higher ups in the company and we keep letting the run around and no answers or even apologies. Pictured is the trash I picked up around our yard after days of them not coming back to do it, the damage to our house and the random lines and wires they left hanging and open.
So far so good! Every question I've asked has been answered very promptly. They are very courteous and knowledgeable about their services! Installation was a success and the whole unit looks awesome!! The installers were very friendly and fun!! Looking forward to saving some money and a lower power bill!!! Thanks TXSolar!!!!
I highly would not recommend this company. Communication is terrible and they hired a driver to deliver my solar and the guy ran my brick mailbox over. Texas Solar told me to deal with it with the delivery guy. Second, I had a generator interlock connected to my breaker in case I needed to power my house if all fails. The installer hid it behind the breaker and my local inspector found it. This is after I asked the installer. Before the installer left, he told me he installed it and hid the wires. There is better company out there. Once you sign that contract, they don’t really care about you. UPDATE: even though this review got a response, Texas Solar has not done anything. My panels are still not active and my Tesla Charger stopped working after they replaced my breakers. I have tried calling numerous times and no answer. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AND AVOID THE PROBLEMS. I signed my contract Oct 2023 and it’s June 2024. Army Veteran for 16 years and 2 homes with solar. 1 with Vivint and 1 with Renew Solar
This was a rocky/bad experience from the beginning. Shame on me for accepting a pitch from a cold call, but we’d been meaning to get into Solar for a while. We agreed to run numbers, but we needed to sign for that, and were told we could back out up til a certain point in the process. They were extremely pushy to set things up, calling every day, and leaving messages. A man came to check and make sure our system was compatible, and set fire to our lawn in the process, and used up our extinguisher to put it out. We were ready to back out at this point and told them. We got a 7pm visit from our rep a few nights later saying that we’d owe thousands of dollars in permits if we backed out. But to rectify our lawn catching fire (which he had NO idea had happened, 🙄 thank goodness I took photos), they would possibly replace our lawn. But then no, they’d pay three months of our payments once they were installed. I asked for it in writing in a email, and it never came. We went forward with the installation, and months later the supplies were delivered to our driveway, chipping and breaking a couple of our pots on the way. No big deal, but annoying. Then comes the install. Done quickly in a day, and trash raining down all around. That’s fine. Except, they didn’t pick it up. Again I called our rep (Chris), and he said they would be sent back out to clean up. After waiting and calling back and forth for a week (windy days and we didn’t want trash in our neighbors yards), my husband and I went out and picked everything up, including pizza crusts and trash from their lunches during the install. I was frustrated after all this, but glad it was done. Waited three months and contacted our rep for the payment from the fire. He completely ghosted us from there on out. I called the company, and was told the rep team had nothing to do with them, and they wouldn’t do a thing. I was also told that we would pay half the year (summer for the cooling) and save extra half the year during the winter when less energy was needed. Estimates must have been off because we pay our solar bill AND an electric bill every month, and it’s been a year. NOT A GOOD COMPANY TO WORK WITH, all around. Very disappointing.
The workers did an awesome job. They were polite and worked hard and even completed the job in one day. They kept the job site very neat and clean through the entire day.
